Yaletown Distillery Bar + Kitchen

I had some time to kill in Yaletown the other day and I decided to go sit with a new book for a glass of wine and the hope of dinner at the Distillery (1131 Mainland St, Vancouver). The rain was heavy, the skies were dark, the leaves of trees were falling…the patio had heaters, a tarp through which you could see the rain, and beautiful jazz music playing…it was perfection. I asked the server what I could order that could be made vegan on the menu, he gave me a few different options and I opted for the Orecchiette with broccoli rabe, roasted tomatoes, garlic, chili, hold the anchovies. It was a pleasant vegan meal with paired with the right red wine. Would I go back for it? No. Was I glad to have this option? Absolutely. I definitely mostly enjoyed the Jazzy, rainy, autumn vibe of the place.
